The Phaistos Disc is amongst the most enigmatic of archaeological finds, its purpose, origins, even how it was made are still hotly debated.
There are 242 hieroglyph-like images in all, comprising 45 different symbols as well as dashes and dots. People, plants and animals are amongst the imagery stamped on the disc.
